The Worst Ever
by roux2
As a native New Mexican my expectations for steak in this town is not that high. I have visited some steakhouses in Texas that serve $10 steaks that were better than the steaks we had here. Not only were the steaks horrible ( mind you we had three different steaks, filet, strip, and ribeye) but they charge $2 per sodas NO REFILLS and out of the can! The price varies from $22 to $25. I ordered the shrimp for my kids and it was like leather.. Please don't waste your time, for the price you can get a great meal at Outback. For the 5 of us the bill was $109.00 Outrageous!
- Pros: None to speak of
- Cons: All of it
A comfortable, 1960s vintage steakhouse, where you can be alone with your big burger and icy cold beer.

The Scene
The clientele is a mix, but regulars seem to be middle-aged men in casual-Friday polyester attire. Sink into a high-backed, red vinyl, semicircular booth. Have a burger and a beer and watch the game on the big-screen TV. Both dining rooms are dimly lit; the brighter main room is closer to the kitchen, bathrooms and TV, the other is more secluded, but not always open. Though popular, the place never seems busy, so the dining room is quiet and you don't feel rushed.
The Food
Thick, meaty, eight-ounce burgers come parked on big sesame-seed buns and are substantial enough to satisfy the cravings of any red-meat-starved carnivore, though some may balk at forking out more money for the privilege of eating one at dinnertime. Cheeseburgers remain at a steady price, if that's an issue. Other good choices include the well-marbled rib eye, tender fried calamari and house-made baklava for dessert.
