This is a great bookstore. It specializes in Latin American books, art and music. I live in Monterey, CA, but I found this bookstore when I visited Santa Fe four years ago. I met a gentleman named James there. He is knowledgeable about the books they stock, interesting AND has a great personality. You can't get that at Borders OR Barnes and Noble. At the last two, sometimes you may get deals, but you can't beat expert suggestions and intelligent discourse. After I got home, I called and inquired about some books I needed. I ordered the books just based on Jame's suggestions; they were perfect. These are BIG reference, language and music books. Now I'm on the search for a few more and I'm calling Alla Bookstore first. I've been in a LOT of bookstores and this is one of the best. Not the biggest, but defintely one of the best!
Pros: Expert advise on the books they carry; intelligent and interesting staff.
Cons: None that I noticed.
