Horrible service, decent food
by frankart at Citysearch
Specifically made a reservation for a sunset dining experience and arrived on time but then waited half an hour in the bar unable to see the view before we were given a table. The host had a very snobby attitude and the table we were seated at had a large beam obstructing the view of the sunset. We had to get up and go outside to view the sunset. The server lacked hospitality skills and overlooked the fact that we had no drinks, failed to tell us about the items on the menu they were out of (including the prime rib which was our first choice) and didn't refill our glasses in a timely manner. Parties of 2 are seated on inner ring away from the window. Would recommend a party of 4 for optimal view. The food was pretty good although a little pricey which was to be expected.
- Pros: decent food, great view
- Cons: service
decent food, worst service
by brentos06 at Citysearch
First the good, great views (if you're into landscape photo it's got some great opportunities), neat tram ride, and the food was pretty decent. The bad, possibly one of the worst wait staffs I've experienced for a place that charges 20-30 dollars a plate. Very unprofessional wait staff, ours was a kid still in college who I think was on his very first job in a restaurant. Taking away unfinished salads so he could make room for entrees, not even filling up water glasses, not taking away empty cocktail glasses, lifting chairs over guests while they were eating, etc. Unless you're into the view and can overlook horrible service, this is neat place to go to.
Tourist Trap
by hegle at Citysearch
I don't see how anyone can expect good food from such a touristy place. People will come anyway, so I'm not surprised that the food tastes prefab, reheated, and just awful. Face it, this is basically the only place to eat on the mountain, so what is their incentive to actually serve great food? On the plus side, the service and beer were good.
- Pros: Service, Beer, View
- Cons: Food
