Horrible Customer Service. Ok, I have to admit that the end result was delicious and exactly the look I wanted, but it took a lot of hassle and money to get it. I think that they know that their cakes are good and they can take advantage of brides because most of them will pay for a quality cake. When I went for my tasting, I told them that I wanted a 4 tier square cake with separation between tiers and they said they couldn't do it because it wouldn't be structurally stable. So I compromised and went with round tiers. As time went on I really wanted square so I asked my planner to find me a baker that could give me exactly what I wanted. I don't know if she convinced Unique Cakes to do square tiers, but all of a sudden they were able to do it for an extra $50.00. Ok fine, I'll pay. Well when my RSVP's came I ended up with 30 less people so I asked if we could substitute a tier with Styrofoam so 30 pieces of cake didn't go to waste. I still wanted the look of 4 tiers but just not all that extra cake. They said that it will cost me more for a Styrofoam tier!! How do they expect anybody in their right mind to believe that a block of Styrofoam costs more than the actual cake itself?! Realistically wouldn't it be cheaper than flour, sugar, eggs, etc., and less time consuming since they don't have to cut and fill layers of the cake? Talk about taking advantage of brides!!! I ended up with a lot of extra delicious tasting cake and feeling like I totally got taken advantage of. Cost of cake was about $4.50 pp so I ended up wasting about $150.00 because of them. This bakery is totally unprofessional and takes advantage of brides during vulnerable times.

Pretty good, but PRICEY. When we walked in we were greeted and sat down to discuss all the options, which seems unlimited. We tried a variety of cakes and fillings. They were not "fresh out of the oven" but they were not bad, and better then others we had tried. They created a custom design on the cake to match the dresses lace. It turned out nice, nothing too spectacular though. It was only a 3 tier square cake, and cost almost 900.... really pricey. and they seem a bit over protective of their cake stands, requiring a 200 "deposit check" which is returned to you when the stand is returned, but they must have told us 15 times about returning it. at the reception the cake was very good though, not stale, it was fresh, they showed up on time and there were no issues.

Outstanding. Fantastic. Upon arriving, the manager sat down with us, explained the options and brought the cakes, fillings and frostings that we requested. The presentation was above and beyond what we expected - neat little slices, special dishes, utensils, dishes, etc. The cake was easily the best we'd tried in Santa Fe or Albuquerque. We wound up having to choose between four or five great flavor combinations. White, chocolate and lemon were outstanding - moist and flavorful, but not too heavy. Of the fillings, bavarian creme, cream cheese and strawberry were especially good.

Contrary to the previous review, our cake was fresh and the fondant was smooth, though we opted for the buttercream. Design-wise, we didn't see anyone else this good - clean lines, creative touches, nice work all around. Price-wise, it was half the price of some of the vendors in Santa Fe...

Not impressive. I was not impressed by the cakes at all. First of all, when I went in for a tasting the cake tasted old and stale. Not good marketing. The same was true when I tasted the cakes at a bridal fair. In addition, I did not like the frostings and their fondant does not taste correct and can be grainy. Yes they can do some complex cakes for design, but again they do not appear very clean in the lines and design. Most importantly, for a wedding cake, it should not only look good but taste good as well. Guests remember if the cake was bad... and every time I have tried the cakes here, they have been bad. If all you want is looks, go for them, but if you want taste as well go elsewhere.
