Worst move out experience
by ashe10 at Citysearch
As the other reviews state, the move out is absolutely horrible. I was also charged for burnt out lights, although there were none.
I explained to them that my grandmother was ill so I needed to terminate my lease. I paid the termination fee, cleaned my apartment, and moved out in the time alotted. A screen BLEW OFF my bedroom window and they are charging me $80-$100 for it!?!?! They had charged me $50 to paint two accent walls in my apartment for me. When I received my "final bill" they charged me $240 to repaint the walls. They supposedly used 2 gallons of KILLZ and 2 gallons of paint. It's interesting that it took less than 1 gallon of paint to paint my 2 accent walls. Also, KILLZ is not necessary on apartment walls, especially not an apartment that was lived in for 3 months or less. 2 accent walls wouldn't require 2 gallons of paint OR of KILLZ.
Nothing but trouble!

When my boyfriend and I first moved in we LOVED it. Spent our 6 month lease VERY happy. Signed another 6 month leave but went from a one bedroom to a two. The move went fine (we only got charged for carpet cleaning which is a normal expense when moving out of apartments). The second bedroom went OK, the people above us were very loud and we actually called a few times in the middle of the night to have then quieted. Then we went to move out, cleaned the whole apartment, got out, had no problems. Then about two weeks later we get a call saying we are being sent to collections in 4 days if we do not get them a check for some extra charges. They charged us for "burnt out lights" - which there were none, a dirty sink - which was clogged and we had a work order in for them to fix, and a whole bunch of other misc. charges that I know I personally cleaned, did, or know did not need to be done. We do not bother fighting them about these chargers because we are nice people, but only giving us 4 days to get them a check is crazy! We over nighted a check to them and three days later they STILL are saying they have not gotten it and that we will be sent to collections tomorrow (though collections cannot do anything about it for 90 days as we just moved out two weeks prior to all this). We have been calling and calling and get nothing but the run about. Though the living was fine, the moving out is beyond trouble!!! Just save yourself the worry and stress and anger and do not live there. I mean it was ok, but not for the trouble we have gone through in the past 4 days because they want to take as much money from us as they can! UGH never again will I live there nor will I ever recommend it to any one else. I now also have found other friends that had the same problems, just find another better and nicer place. I think part is because the office staff is ALWAYS changing so no one knows what is even going on
Excellent! Great! Fantastic!

Those are just a few words that describe the experience I had at Ventana Canyon Apartments.
I was looking for an apartment for over a month when I fell upon the Ventana canyon apartments because I stopped to visit the new smiths across the street. I called and I spoke with Jennifer, she was so very helpful and friendly. I didn?t have time to stop so she offered to make an appointment later that afternoon after I took my groceries home. I showed up to the apartments and every thing looked so nice outside the grass was clear of dog mess and the parking lot was so clean.( great first impression) As I went into the office I was met by smiling faces and was impressed. Jennifer gave me a tour of the property and was so knowledgeable not only about the apartments but the surrounding area as well. I give her Kudos! I know that being an Assistant Manager is a very busy job but she made me feel like I was her first priority. She could have told the leasing agent to take me out but I think that because she made the appointment with me she wanted to take me out.
I put the deposit and moved in a few weeks later!
Don?t even think twice while looking for a new home. Choose Ventana Canyon Apartments. The prices are great the Apartments are well maintained and the staff is excellent.
- Pros: friendly effecient Staff
- Cons: No play Ground

I went to Ventana Canyon 10300 Golf Course Rd NW Albuquerque NM 87114 on 02/06/08 around 10:30 AM. Me and my husband had always been impressed by the luxurious look of this community so we decided to stop by on the search for our new home. The Leasing Office was nice and neat and all that. There was a lady sitting at the table inside the room, who didn't even say hi when we came in, I saw bunch of papers on her desk, I guess she was busy. So, my husband told her Hi, she asked if she could help. Then she ask us to wait ,after waiting 10 minutes then she threw us the apartment brochure and floor plan and her business card and...get back to her room. So I told my husband to leave, because "I think she's busy right now". She still was doing her work. So we said bye, a younger associates came out from the other office saying bye to us, not till then she said bye...
I wonder how Ventana Canyon Apartments could hire someone that unprofessional to work for their leasing office '''The story didn't end there.
We then went to Cottonwood Ranch Apartments, the leasing officer was so nice and sweet and helpful...Surprisingly enough, we learned from her that the 4 previous clients she helped decided to lease at Cottonwood Ranch after receiving the same rude, impolite and disrespectful attitude at Ventana Canyon Apartments
So I guess it wasn't just me :)
We wonder if that's the same lady named Jennifer Marrufo at Ventana Canyon ''' Oh btw, her business card say "Assistant Manager" (!')
