Dugan's Nursery has exceptional service and does quality work. I come back to Dugan's often to get what I need (mostly talavera pottery and some landscaping). In my experience, the workers that Bob has hired were always helpful and knew what they were doing. My home always looks beautiful from the work and merchandise that I get from Dugan's. Highly recommended and livs2sew sounds as if they just didn't feel like acknowledging hard work so they could possibly get some kind of a price cut. Sort of like a person who complains about their food at a restaurant to get 20% off.
Most Untrustworthy Landscaper.
I hired Bob Dugan of Dugan Nursery to landscape my backyard. He assured me that he was a licensed professional with 30 yrs experience only to find out that Bob does not do his own work, Bob Dugan sent his "Employee" to my house, unlicensed plumber with no ability to do the work.He required pre payment of a third down (1,500 dollars). As it turned out, on the 8th day of a three day job, I came home to review the job, I turned on the water system and all the tubes & heads blew off creating a waterworks display. The sprinkler heads in my lawn were broken away from the plumbing w/massive amounts of water rushing into my DEAD sod that he laid on uneven, untilled ground. The sod made no contact with the under soil. The sod was D grade w/tough Bermuda grass mixed in when I was promised Bluegrass fescue. Bob refused to come to my home to review what his employee did. He told me that the man he sent was a homeless man w/severe mental illness, but Bob uses him because all he has to pay him is room and board, ie cheep labor.
The workers did great damage to the landscaping of my front yard that I had just done in Dec. All was buried in the mud they left behind. My brand new hand made gate was gouged with their wheel barrows, I have to restore it and my front yard too. I had to hire someone else to redo the total disaster that Bob Dugan left behind. Please, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, YOU WILL NE SORRY, LIKE I AM.
If it's ceramic, wood or concrete garden accents you're after, look no further..
The Scene
You'll know you're in the right place when you see a huge array of terra-cotta suns. The majority of square footage at this almost-all-outdoor garden shop is taken up by imported Mexican garden accents. Finding what you want may take some hunting, but it's worth the effort.
The Goods
Dugan's has a huge selection of suns and other ceramic garden accents: chimeneas shaped like fish, cast concrete Virgens of Guadalupe, benches in the shapes of lions and dragons, and carved wooden furniture with calla lilies in relief. The actual nursery part of the business is less impressive and service can be hard to get, but prices on cacti and other succulents are good.
