THE BEST!!!. As a Hispanic, I grew up eating "home-made" Mexican Food every day. This is a truly unique version of Mexican Food (Non-Traditional "New Mexican" food) that is just over-the-top GREAT!!! It is a place that one MUST visit when in Albuquerque. The owner, Cindy, is always there; not just supervising but actually cooking and verifying quality control. I learned about this treasure 30 years ago while working at Sandia Labs (Even cheap SNL engineers rave about it), and after 15 years of retirement, it is still my favorite Mexican place in town! The daily specials are always a great option. The Friday special is not to be missed. (Watch out because they do often sell out!)

BTW - cowboyeti doesn't get it. This is a "locals" place. It is so popular that there can be a long wait, esp on Fridays. (15 to 30 min is typical at peak times.) It gives us time to catch up with other "local fans" and check in with Cindy. If time is an issues, call ahead and take-out or arrive at non-peak times. (Early or late) He should just go to his type of place - Denny's - where the food sucks but you can get it fast...That is NOT La Salita! We are all proud of this incredible place. The food is perfectly prepared by caring cooks and served by friendly people who do their best to make the visit enjoyable. This takes time and patience...It is MORE than worth it!!!

Best Mexican Food!!!. OMG! It is exactly what we expected and more. We are new to ABQ and this is the first Mexican Restaurant we tried thanks to a friend's recommendation. It is Friday night, they are busy, but we were seated in about 10 minutes. The service was more than good, it was exceptional! The waiter gave us good recommendations on the menu and we were not disappointed. The green chile sauce is full of flavor and spicy! I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant!

SoOoOo Good. This Is My New Favorite Place To Eat ! The People were so Kind And Sweet ... I Just Love The Salsa "LOVE"...And The Red And Green Chile Was The Best ... I'm Even Going To Have La Salita Cater For My Wedding Because I Think My Family And Friends Should Have The Best Mexican Food Out There !

Unless you want to wait all day...stay away!. Where to start! Me and a couple of friends went here for lunch. I expected a wait, which wasn't too bad, something like 25 mins.

My friend had been talking about this place so we decided to check it out. We get seated and order our food. This is what sucks, it took almost 45 mins to get our food. We asked our waitress to explain why it took so long, she fired back that one of the cooks was out.

Rather then being polite, she started to argue w/ us. Finally the manager showed up and apologized.

Food was not worth the wait. We ordered a taco salad (yeah who orders taco salad) they brought out chips covered w/ meat, lettuce and tomatoes!! looked like nachos to me!!!

Oh well, I'd give this place a thumbs down!!! It sucked!!!

Great food and good service. My entire family has been going to La Salitas for as long as I can remember and we have made it into our place to go when everyone is in town. I hope they will be around for many more years to come.

NOT OPEN ENOUGH!!!. My boyfriend and I are sooooooooooo so so so sick of going there and it being closed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

we have gone about 5 different times and its always closed!!!! They need to be open more!!! We have given up on going cuz it never fits our schedule. We cant count on La Salita.

Fast, good food, good service. The only problem with this place is that they aren't open on the weekends... bummer! I recommend going on friday and getting the carne adavada (or however you spell it.) don't expect an amazing beautiful atmosphere, it's a hole in the wall... but the service, staff, and food are excellent. You can't go wrong.

best new mexican food. we've been patrons at LaSalita's for the past 14+ years. the food is great and the service is terrific.

the sopapillas are the best i've ever tasted and the chili con queso is always a must. tough to beat.

Best New Mexican Food in the 505. La Salita is hands down the best mexican food in albuquerque, and I dare say the best in all of new mexico. They have the best chile rellenos which are hand dipped per order making them just the right crispiness and never soggy, absolutley excusite. They also have some of the best carne adovada I have ever had, which is served on friday as the daily special, get there early as the usually run out. The service is excelllent, and if you come in atleast twice you will be on a first name basis with your waitress. La Salita is also very kid friendly and does not serve alcohol, but who needs booze when the grub is this good. Try La Salita ASAP
