Break for the border with these rave-worthy breakfast burritos..
The Scene
Rancheros music plays on the radio. Chile ristras and other dried sundries adorn the walls. A hand-painted menu that takes nearly twenty minutes to read is posted above the counter. Nothing too snazzy here, just good, cheap food served in large portions.
The Food
Locals rave about the breakfast burritos; like everything else on the menu, the flour tortillas are larger than life and made on the premises. The best combination so far seems to be egg, chorizo, potato, and cheddar with both red and green chile. The empanadas, delicious, flaky, little fruit-filled pastries are a dessert treat worth waiting for. Before you leave, buy some tortillas (sold in sets of six or twelve) and some chile, posole, or menudo (sold in sizes from half-pint to half-gallon).
Dish to Die For
Try to save room for dessert; the bizcochitos, New Mexico's official state cookie, are freshly baked.
The best Burritos in burque. I defy any of you to find a breakfast burrito like these. They are amazing. One burrito will suffice for a full day's sustenance, but one can't leave without picking up another for the road. Inside it's a nice little place where you're bound to run into someone you know. Overall it was transcendant. Groin grabbingly transcendant.
Beyond Outstanding. The best consistant and tasty mexican food in town. Always greeted with a WARM welcome and the service is quick. If you are looking for a burrito to put your hands around don't go to Dos. Always large portions that usually require a take home container. Only negative is operating hours. Only one location remains open past 3. They should at least be on the top 10 in #1 for the best mexican food.
