People are unreasonable
by roxwella at Citysearch
FYI, I have just moved out of the SpringPark apartments after a nine month lease. First, I must admit that the biggest problem with this apartment is the parking. If you have one of the apartments in the area I did, you will probably want to rent a spot ($15 which seems very reasonable for a reserved spot). But, other than that I have to say I really enjoyed my time living there.
My apartment had newly finished counter tops and carpets, but somewhat dated appliances (all apartments I saw had washer and dryer). The space was pleasant, and the rent (and water and trash) was very reasonable. I also found the staff to be friendly and honest (Im not sure what the other people are talking about, but Ive found that most people who rate something 1 star are outside the norm). Ive had friends who have had bad renting experiences when moving out (in this area of town), but the management was understanding when it came to small spots and scuffs. The pool and hot tub were also a nice perk.
Im sure there are nicer apartments around (even across the street), but if your budget minded and want to live next to a very pleasant park, Id suggest you take a look at SpringPark.
(They gave me a student discount rate, but Im sure they have others...ask them).
DO NOT RENT HERE !!!!!!!!!

Management is the worst !!! Very nice at the beginning then NOTHING. Will tell you anything then do nothin. Parking is a nightmare. They have taken free parking and turned it into paid parking. Huge fees for water and trash- im sure much more than the actual costs. Huge fees for pets. Very loud- poor construction !!! Management will treat you like crap. Ants and bugs. 100.00 to go month to month. Attitude is "we have you on the lease so go to he--" Much better places - run fast and run hard from this place. Im sick of these apt. owners/mgmt thinking we have to take this crap!! report this place on the internet !! Tell people how it really is !
Never in my life.....

I have only been living here for not even two months. When I first looked at apartments they showed me a nice one...when it came time to sign the lease I went and looked at the actual apartment I was moving into and it was a lot smaller than told, nothing was cleaned, the dryer was not working, the front door had so much air coming in through it, there was spider webs with spiders on them all over the place, the fridge and oven were disgusting it looked like it had not been cleaned since the 1980s (in which the appliances were made.) I had called over 20 times to get everything fixed and time after time everything was worse than before. The light sockets were a extreme fire hazard and nothing to this day has been done about it and I have a toddler in with me. I have requested to get a bigger apartment and agreed to pay more just for the more room and the siutations at hand. I put a deposit down over 2 weeks ago for a bigger apartment and no one will call me back nor answer my calls. When I go into the office all they say is "I am sorry we will call you when the manager comes in..." The office staff are some of the most unprofessional people I have ever met..The maintence staff has no clue how to fix anything in that entire complex and needs to be reviewed highly...
I do not and will not recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a place to live and not be burnt to death in!!!!!!!!!! I have contacted an attorney and will be taking this company to the proper legal actions!!!
- Pros: close to work
- Cons: horrible customer service, apartment inside horrible,
Worst Office Employees**** Do Not Rent from Them****

I rented/lived in this complex for 3 years, the office personnel are worthless. The maintenance is crappy, the apartments/sidewalks are crawling with ants, sprinklers ruin your car and most of them are broken/leaking. The parking lot is a pond every night. The trash bins where always overflowing every other day. Upon move out they tried to charge us up for every little thing including the full replacement price for 3 year old carpet which was $900. I had to fight and threaten them with a lawyer to charge me the proper pro- rated price for the carpet. Now I have been paying payments every month for my remain balance I owe them. I just received a collections notice from a company saying I owe Spring Park money even though They have been cashing my checks I have been sending. Never ever ever rent from them EVER
worst customer service and buildings are built to flood

I will NEVER recommend this apartment to anyone nor will I chose to renew my lease once it is over. The office is full of ditzy girls who do not know how to deal with anything. Audra is only good at saying "I don't know" and Melanie will tell you she doesn't want to argue with you, but if you want to terminate your lease you can pay the termination fee." All are excellent at shifting blame.
These buildings are built ground level so when it rains, your apartment will flood. It has taken them 2 months to get a contractor out to "find a solution." When you call to ask if there is even a temporary solution in place because it is down pouring almost every other day, the only response is "what is tel# and I'm going to talk to our maintenance team about it." You NEVER receive a callback indicating if anything will be done. No one takes responsibility of a problem and provides a solution. It's all very wishy washy.
For almost paying over $600/month for rent, I expect my apartment to not flood every time it rains. I also expect things to work in the apartment i.e. air conditioning (been out here 4x to fix it) leaky water heater not to mention a lot of other little problems that are deemed low priority so no one will ever make it out here to fix it. the managements solution?! "i'll put in the work order for you again."
All the girls who work in the office are unprofessional. If you go in to tell them about an issue or anything, you'll have to wait until they are done chit chatting on the phone with their friend before you can start.
They know you are stuck in a lease so they don't care if they anger you or if you've had the same re-occuring problems and no final resolution in sight. You do not get your monies worth here
- Pros: close to park, dog friendly
- Cons: bad customer service, buildings built to flood, nothing ever gets fixed
