Wedding day hiccups.
I was in a pinch when I found Rev. Pearl. My bestfried couldnt marry us at the last minute, which was devistating for me since I had planned to use him years before my hubby and I got together lol.
Reharsal went great no problems there.
The next day we got to the library, ready to become hubby and wife. We went through all the old fashioned steps, you know not seeing each other since the day before, everything blue, new...etc. The wedding starts, everything is going great then it starts to go south. My husband is suppose to read me a poem, and Rev. Pearl announces he is going to read a poem to 'KRISTIE" my name is NOT Kristie, that is my bestfriend she was doing a reading at the wedding!!
I was so shocked I didnt know what to say or do. I burst into laughter as did everyone else, it was a great tension breaker. The only part of the ceremony I wish had been different was the last part, when she tried to pronounce our last name, which even after she was corrected twice she still said it wrong.
I'm not sure I would recommend her to another couple that didnt have time like us, but for a couple that had time to sit with her more than 30 min absolutely.
If you have a certain plan for your wedding....DON'T use them..
I decided to us Reverend G. because I had seen her perform another wedding and she did a great job.
Sorry, Reverend but my now husband has to live with everyone calling him my last name for the rest of his life since you said I now pronounce you Mr. & Mrs (my last name.)
I have to say...everything that we rehearsed the weekend before was pointless. We didn't do anything we rehearsed. My step-mother was supposed to do a reading.....instead the Reverend did it herself...she forgot what to do for the unity candle ceremony (thus we had to take control of the situation), there was supposed to be a parental blessing, that was left out.....like I said-everything we rehearsed.....left out. We have it on video if you would like to see how it turned out. Sorry Reverend, but if you have done 400+ weddings, you would have thought it was your first. Nice lady but Wasn't worth the $200, Sorry!
