No matter what the weather, this is the place for dynamite Texas barbecue and scrumptious seafood..
The Scene
Barbecue isn't just for summer. When the weather's cold, take a seat near the fireplace and watch football on the big-screen TV. On warm afternoons languish by the patio fountain, beer in hand. Winter or summer, wear something comfortable, because there's a good chance you'll get barbecue sauce all over it. JR is from Texas, where they do barbecue right. Ask for extra napkins.
The Food
Choose your favorites from smoked brisket, pork ribs, sausage, chicken, turkey, or ham. Somehow not in the mood for barbecue? JR's also has great fried fish choices, including catfish, oysters, clams, and shrimp. The hefty Fisherman's Platter consists of three of the above dishes and two side items.
Dish to Die For
For the best of both worlds, try one of the seafood and barbecue combos, with a choice of each and two sides.
