Server was great, food was nasty. 3 friends and I went over to Martini Grille last night-- used to be a favorite, and I thought I'd give the old standby another try. Was I ever disappointed. Didn't have the rum we ordered, or the soup. The Martini Fries were lukewarm, and cheese on top was already stiff from sitting around while the cheese underneath wasn't melted at all. The green chile used tasted canned. The tuna steak sandwich was 'fishy'-- something about it just not right. The guiness beer was watered down, barely cool, and flat. Were it not for the very friendly service, we would have left. I can see now why it was dead, while other spots in Nob Hill are crowded, even on Mondays. Steer clear of this gem that has clearly lost its lustre.…
New Chef at Martini Grille!. If you call a place Martini Grille than you better be able to make one heck of a martini - and I've never been disappointed with their martini cocktails. When it comes to the Grille part, though, I always thought the menu never quite jived with the swank atmosphere and fabulous cocktails. However, I've noticed in my 2 visits this past month that the food has been fantastic and they have begun offering really amazing specials and desserts. The steak quesadilla was delicious and the tequila lime marinated steak with mango and tomatilla salsa and a side of sweet potato mash was PHENOMENAL. I also split the creme brulee sampler with some girlfriends-- it looked too interesting to pass up with flavors like Jack Daniel's, Jasmine Green Tea (my fave), traditional vanilla and a chocolate Gran Marnier creme brulee. They did not disappoint. Nosey as I am, I got the scoop from our waitress: They hired a new chef from New York City and are going to be doing an overhaul of the menu (but keeping some of the faves like the fries of course!). I can't wait to go back and try another gourmet special and see what else this chef can do!…
One of the best of Albuquerque. Martini Grille is one of the best places in Albuquerque for drinks. Martini fries are a must. Great atmosphere for meeting up with friends and relaxing.
Mmmmartinis.
I LOVE this place!
As you may have guessed by the name,
there is a wide variety of Martinis to be had here.
Sam, the bar manager, will always take good care of you.
The martinis taste as if I had made them myself.
Also, the only place around with blue cheese olives, a favorite of many bold martini fans.
And the atmosphere so great that I remodeled my master bedroom similarly!
Dark red walls, black furniture, leopard print here & there, lots of candles.
On weekend nights, you can also enjoy great piano & vocals in the back room.
It is close enough to the University & downtown that you would be cheating yourself by not at least making it a first or last stop.
I highly recommend Martini Grille, and not just because it is close enough to walk to from my house.
Cheers!

You'll find fabulous martinis, a full menu and live music at this dimly-lit spot..
The Scene
Leopard print curtains complement the dark, burgundy interior. Plenty of booths and comfortable chairs beckon the mixed crowd to relax in a space not unlike the living room you've always wanted. Another room holds a piano bar with music ranging from techno to swanky lounge jazz. A full menu of salads, sandwiches and pastas feed martini sippers until midnight. Happy hour's until 7pm, seven day a week. Free dance lessons and a selection of cigars, rounds out the perks.
The Booze
Martinis are obviously the drink of choice. Don't like them? Think again. There's over 25 varieties ranging from sweet (the Lido has Kahlua, Bailys, espresso and coffee bean) to peppery (the Dirty Diablo has Absolut Peppar Vodka, dry vermouth, olive juice and a gorgonzola-stuffed olive.) There's also wine, beer and plenty of top shelf liquors.…
