#10 I will come back for you from Siberia.
It is the best Carne Adovada on the planet! Period. That is the food I try in every place in New Mexico. Nobody beats Perea's , Barelas Cafe House comes somewhat close, but Perea's is the undisputed king.
The just melts under the fork...yummyyyy...
These people are not about the decor but the awesome Carne Adovada! 6 stars!

Not quite genuine.
They have a very New Mexico feel to the restaurant meaning that they are warm and it seems like a family operation. I was disappointed with the food. The red chili was made from pods and you could still taste the skin and get specks of it in your teeth. The refried beans tasted like they were smoked and should be eaten at a bbq roadhouse not with New Mexican food. The service was warm and cordial, but I will not be returning anytime soon.

A hidden gem with great New Mexican food..
Every trip to ABQ includes a breakfast or lunch (sometimes both!) at this unassuming
family restaurant. Their salsa has got a serious kick, as does the green chile. Their refrieds are quite possibly my favorite anywhere. To paraphrase another review: "I'm going to Perea's for breakfast today!"

Editorial Review.
Family-owned eatery serves Mexican cuisine to early birds. Breakfast and lunch menus include huevos rancheros, burritos and spicy egg dishes.

My family and I have been going to Perea's for years and we always have to get our chile fix! The food there is addictingly hot! We love it!! Along with the fast, friendly service I feel right at home. We will be heading over there for breakfast tomorrow!!!
