Where to begin... Greg is awesome! I am an extremely picky person about my hair, and I have been to many different "high end" salons over the years in search of a stylist that actually knows what they are doing. I found Laru Ni Hati by looking at online reviews and decided to give it a try.I have been very happy with my experiences so far. Greg took the time to do a very detailed consultation and made sure we were on the same page with the highlights and color I wanted. My hair had been previously damaged by another hairstylist and I was nervous about getting highlights again. Greg uses only a top quality color line and products. My hair looks great and feels wonderful!
GREAT Salon! EVEN BETTER CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! I received a great cut and color from Mona. If your looking for a fun place with excellent talent come here......
a law student cuts my hair
we talk legal precedent and cuban food
art nouveau meets central avenue sidewalk cafe
pool table over lexan floor
vintage salon chairs, fine wine, spa salad, edgy art, silent movies
I love this place.
I've never had a bad hair cut or color.
When I walk out, I feel like a million bucks.
Great Haircuts along Central. I'm not always the best at telling people what I want from a haircut. I tend to only have a vague sense of what I'd like from a haircut. La Runi Hati has done a very good job of taking my vague ramblings and turning out nice, professional haircuts. I'd recommend them to anyone who wants a quality haircut in Albuquerque.
Sarah is AMAZING!.
I came in with my long, unruly, naturally curly hair ruined. It was my own darned fault. I tried to color it myself, and -- oh boy! -- I sure did. PINK. NOT intentional.
Sarah sat me down. She asked me a number of questions about preferences, but my hair was such a mess I just decided to give her free rein.
I walked out of there with my hair silky smooth and a fabulous shade that went perfectly with my complexion. I've been a loyal customer ever since.
I've Found Much Better.
After a bad experience at Waves in downtown ABQ, I started going to Laru Ni Hati as it was really close to my work.
I called for pricing one day and was set up for a Saturday appointment. I was really impressed with the atmosphere. No salon, that I had ever been to, has food, alcohol, pool tables or movies playing on televisions around the booths. So that was cool. The stylist was young and very easy to get along with. During one of my first appointments with her I had mentioned I was getting married the next year and she, in return, mentioned she does wedding updo's. BONUS! I already loved going to her for cuts and figured her updo work was as equally impressive. She told me it would be $100 but, if I scheduled a practice run, I would only have to pay $50 on my wedding day. $50 for the practice, $50 for the actual thing. The practice run ended up being less than 20 minutes and was NOTHING like what I got on the day of my wedding. She went on location, which was great, but I ended up having to pay the full $100. I only had $80 cash as I was planning on giving a large tip and, instead, ended up having to borrow just to cover the base price. When I said I was under the impression it was only going to be around $50, the reception I got was less than helpful. More like an arrogant, "um, oh well" attitude from the receptionist at the salon. My hair did not stay in place and, looking back on pictures, it could have been a lot better.
Eventually I quit going because the end result was never consistent. Sometimes I liked it...sometimes I didn't. And it was just too long of a drive from the far Northeast Heights to bother.
I now go to Lavande' where I pay the same amount as before but the quality is MUCH better.
I've just had to sacrifice the sandwiches and booze.......darn.
Great Salon! Go see Sarah Mac!. Love the vibe of this salon! Sarah does the best hair and gives amazing waxes. You can grab a bite to eat, drink some coffee, by your cards for friends and family, the products you need and chill on the patio. It's great!
I'll be back for Sarah Mac!. I have been going to Laru for just over a year now. I had heard several friends mention how great their experience had been so I finally had to see for myself. Initially I really liked the atmosphere and modern decor. Then to top it off, I was offered a Marble beer with my cut and had opportunity to purchase some fantastic Cuban food and a cigar from their nice selection of fine cigars. I was already sold! I was told Sarah McIntosh would be my stylist and off I went. Sarah treated me like I was her most important customer and listened to what I had in mind for my new cut. She also offered some options that I really appreciated and decided to try. She won't let you walk out the door not looking your best! I had great conversation with her and I think she can make anyone feel comfortable in her chair. After the cut I had realized coming to Laru was the best decision I've ever made regarding my hair. Thanks Sarah!
Consistently creative!. I found Greg after three people I asked where they got their haircut told me about Laru Ni Hati. I would recommend him to anyone who feels like their hairdresser has stopped being creative or is inconsistent. I have been several times and each time I am happy with the results.
Laru Ni Hati was recommended to me by a colleague. I went to the owner, Greg. I gave him full reign as far as style. My hair was about shoulder length. He cut it short. He seemed to have a lot of attitude, but I figured I could put up with it for the right cut.
I kind of liked the style, and went back a few times. It seemed that he was often late and made me wait; then was distracted during cuts, leaving to take care of salon business.
Then my cuts started getting sloppy and the attitude got worse.
Even after I went back to get it fixed, it often was no better.
Then I got a *really* bad cut and left for good.
The place itself is very hip and fun, but for what they charge it would need to be much more than trendy.
They do have a fantastic array of beauty products and perfumes, and they make a mean cuban sandwich.
But I would look elsewhere for a consistent, good cut.
