Tips for Pat's Doors

January 21, 2013

Recently purchased 3 exterior and 3 interior doors plus all necessary hardware. Worked with Teresa who was both very helpful and knowledgeable. Quality was great and pricing very reasonable. Family owned business that out-shines Lowes and Home Depot. Unqualified recommendation.

Great Store - Great Service - Great Employees. I just finished my second experience with Pat's Doors. The first experience was a little over a year ago, in which I bought two outside doors from them. I was completely satisfied with the transaction, so went back to them when I needed a replacement door in order to install a dog door. I took the old door with me as a model, along with the dog door, in hopes that they would install it for me. Because it was on a Saturday, and they are open only half a day, they advised me to get there early. They open at 7:30 AM.

I arrived at 7:20 AM to find them already open. The owner took my order and one of the workmen came out to discuss exactly what I wanted done. He told me the new door, with dog door installed, would be ready by 9:30 or 10:00. I returned at 9:10, and was told that the door was already ready. By the time I paid my bill, which was very reasonable, the workmen had the new door and my old one loaded in my truck. The dog door was installed and they had taken all the hinges, locks and other hardware off the old door and installed them on the new door.

Throughout my visits, everyone was polite and friendly. It appeared that the employees really liked working there, and shared their enthusiasm with the customers and with each other.

I took the door home and hung it on the hinge halves that remained on the door jamb. It fit perfectly, with no requirement for sanding or other preparation.

I can't say enough good about this store, the manager, or the employees. If you want an enjoyable and hassle-free experience, buy your next doors from Pat!

Best door company in Albuquerque!. Salesman arrived on time as did the installer. The work was performed in a professional manner and door fits perfectly. This company is large and local. Large variety of doors to choose from. I could not be happier.

Avoid using if possible. This company was very disappointing. I have tried multiple time to get them to fix mistakes with my (very expensive) front door. The "owner" of the company came out to review the problems with the door and claimed that because of the style of the door, it was not unusual. I can see through my door light from the setting sun. There are gaps in the paneling that not only lets in light but also let in the cold New Mexico winter. The door also has gaps between the frame and the door. If someone wanted in the house it would not take much work to dismantle this door. He was gracious enough to restock the door with a 25% fee plus the cost of a new door (no thanks).

The interior doors have also had some problems with loose paneling and poor hanging.

Please avoid using this company if possible.
