I recently moved to Albuquerque and have been a hard time finding a salon I have tried a few of the "Best of Albuquerque" salons and they have come up short.

I tried Heart and Soul After asking several people who had done their hair all of which said Heart and Soul and 3 different stylist so it seemed like a safe bet.

I could not get in with the owner so I tried Kayla for a Blow-out to get a feel for the place, she did a great job. the staff was friendly everyone was dressed very stylish,a change for Albuquerque, they use the products that I love. great first experience.

I went back and this time I tried Ian for my cut and highlights he was great!

I would highly recommend this salon, finally my mind is at ease now to find a dry cleaner and Dentist

Snotty Unfriendly & Unprofessional. I had previously been going to Jill for a couple of years and she has since left. You have to wonder why?!? Tried a new stylist, Tiffany, who cut my bangs way too short, the back of my hair does NOT match the front! Showed her a picture of a basic bob and she was not able to finish the job, had to point out parts that did not match and after getting SO frustrated because I knew she didn't know what she was doing, paid the way OVERPRICED cut and left in disgust. Tiffany was unfriendly and didn't say two words while cutting my hair. The owner of the salon never acknowledges any clients in the salon and talks badly to his staff. I don't think he is much better at hair since his wife's (who is the receptionist) hair always looks overprocessed and choppy! When Jill left, she took the best part of that salon with her....her ability to give a great cut and a postive friendly hardworking attitude!

Worth my time for a positive review... I live in Boise, ID now, but still make a point of timing my haircuts with my visits to ABQ so Josh or Tiffany can cut my hair. On the occaision I can't get one of them, I've never had a bad haircut from anyone at H&S.

As a 40yo dude, with slightly thinning hair, but wanting to maintain a contemporary/hip-but-not-trendy hair style, these guys rock it everytime! I'm very critical of my haircuts and have seemingly difficult hair to cut, but will go weeks longer than I should between haircuts just to get in with these guys.

Terrific, professional salon. It's so hard to find a hairdresser who will work with you, is friendly and sweet, and gives a great haircut. I have been going to Josh at Heart and Soul for years, following him through other salons, and this is the best one yet. Josh listens to what I want and does a terrific job on both the cut and the color. I'm an "old lady", not a hip young thing, but his haircuts are stylish and require no work, air dry, and with a final squeeze with some product, I come out looking great. One of the best things about his haircuts is that I live in Santa Fe and have to go a long time between haircuts and the cuts always grow out great. His haircuts are a fraction of the price of what I would have to pay in Santa Fe!

Awesome Haircut!. I called Heart and Soul desperate for a reshaping of my pixie cut, as I was unable to see my regular stylist and looking pretty shaggy. The friendly receptionist told me she could fit me in immediately with Tiffany.

The space itself was very modern and clean and all the stylists and assistants were looking hip and sporting great hair, so I felt confident I'd come to the right place. Tiffany gave me a great scalp massage while she washed my hair, and listened closely to my description of the cut I wanted. She proceeded to give me a truly fabulous short cut, with lots of texture and edge. It was exactly what I wanted!

I would recommend Heart and Soul, and Tiffany in particular, to anyone searching for a new salon and stylist.

Unimpressed. Jill was recommended by a friend and I was hoping for a current haircut. Instead I look like a 70's feathered rocker. Wouldn't go back.

Fabulous Hair Cut. Gerhardt cut my hair today! I was refered to Heart and Soul while shopping at Sephora. I am an African-American client that was worried about how I was going to find someone to cut my hair. Gerhardt was not intimidated at all by my hair. He gave me a fabulous cut and I will be back!

Hidden gem salon of downtown. This is a very cute salon with great service and a modern flair. I got an excellent haircut from Leah. She was very friendly and fun to talk to. She made some suggestions for a style and my hair came out great! Ask for her!

hair place. Jill makes it unique and special and is fun and innovative. I just sat next to a guy that sprayed the heck out of his clients hair and there was nothing to do but take this toxic spray into our lungs. In a cloud of spray, I said "I'm just not going to take this stuff." This is new mexico for heavens sake. Are there not enough pollutants in the air without a heavy dose of hair spray? This is a small place relatively speaking, and though I drive here from Lamy N.M. I just gotta find another place or ask Jill to meet me after hours.

not worth the attitude of the owner. i moved here from new york two months ago and decided to try this salon in search of my new hair place. big mistake as the owner 'blessed' me with a mullet. i had this expensive 'creation' erased the next day.

i was prepared to experiment but that was too weird.
