Terrible. I was unimpressed with this bar in everyday possible. The drinks were weak and poorly mixed. The staff was unpleasant to put it nicely. I was left waiting for my drink while the bartenders chatted to each other, which might have been just fine for a male customer, however I found it to be extremely rude. when i finally got my drinks I was left to wait for another5 minutes while I watched my bartunder slowly run my card while continuing the conversation she was having earlier. The band playing was awful, which I understand is not always the case but the acoustics are poor and I will not be returning.
Never again.
The bouncers do not know what they are doing here, allowing for a lot of chaos and not
providing for suffiecient room for decent people who just want to see their favorite bands play here. One fat bouncer was even
really rude to a potential customer and told him that he was drunk allready so could not enter although that person was obviously sober, and was asking for one of the band members who he knew personally and whp did not find out about the incident until one hour later. That bouncer had no class at all.
Albuquerque's finest retro lounge has built its reputation on exquisite kitsch, live music and great drink specials..
The Scene
Where is Burt? Sadly, Burt doesn't exist. The mythical American wanderer is just an excuse for the place's exquisitely kitschy decor, apparently looted from souvenir shops throughout the South Pacific. Wherever his mythical travels take him, there's always a party to honor Burt in absentia. The music is usually live and ranges from mod to Hawaiian, with the occasional hot gypsy jazz. Many patrons dress accordingly. Burt's promise: "Never a Cover. Ever."
The Booze
Burt's is a hugely popular place, often crowded to capacity. Such popularity is probably due to the great drink specials. In addition to making a fine fashion statement, Burt's has affordable martinis and mai tais.
Great That Burt Came Back. This place is great. Downtown Albuquerque is so much better since Burt's back in town. With the new kitchen this place rocks. Great drinks, great food, nice people, can't ask for much more.
