LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. you love mexican food??? OmG have you tried El Modelo??? seriously its sooo good and they have the BEST tamales they are as big as burritos and stuffed with meat they are amazing the green chile stuffed sopapillas are to die for!!!! been eating here for years and even when i moved away i had to always come back when i was in town. although you wouldnt know it was there unless you drove right past its amazing.. its has to be with no advertising and they have been in business for over 80 years in the same building?! DELICIOUS!!!!!!!!

The GO TO place for party food. Some the best New Mexican food in New Mexico and has been for years. Especially good place to pick up enchiladas and tamales for large crowds of people at home! Perfect for holidays coming up.

Love El Modelo Food!!. I always make sure to eat at El Modelo on my trips through Albuquerque. From my many years of eating Mexican food in Albuq., I can tell you that they have the best authentic food in town! They have to die for carne and tamales. This place is a no fuss fancy restaurant and is carry out (you can eat at picnic tables or take with you). By the way, the sopapillas are so wonderful.

sunday tradition. It has been a family tradition every sunday its El Modelo! there food is soo good i dream about it at night. there prices are really good and u get a lot for it! whenever someone is looking for a good mexican spot i always say "have you tried El Modelo?"

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. To begin with it is very expensive and a close person to me that works there told me they have those filthy So before going to El Modelo Mexican Food think about what you are eating you could be eating a roache!!! I will never eat from there after all they told me about that place!!!!!!!!!!!

best new mexican food. this place is great! try the homemade stuffed sopapillas! everything on the menu is scrumptious. the tamales are the best i have ever ever had! try the pork.

the tostadas are amazing! everything on the menu is really good. this is true new mexico "cuisine"

A Sad New Mexico Resident !!!!. I am from California and we grew up on Mexican Food out there they have the Bomb Mexican Food!!!!!,so when I came out here,I was like introduced to New Mexican Food (not the same)!! I found El Modelo and fell in love with it,the food is awesome,but I must say the Tamales are a little too expensive!!!!! They go for 28.22 a dozen when we use to get them for 15.00 a dozen in California WOW!!!! Thats alot.I kinda had to stop going there for awhile it was adding up on a fixed income. Very Sad about that. Hopefully they wont go higher!!!! I will have to start making my own.

Tamales to Stop the Heart. Order the tamale plate at El Modelo and I guarantee you, when you open the plain styrofoam container, your heart will all but stop beating. Three massive (and I mean massive) logs of pork-filled masa bliss; topped with lettuce and tortilla chips. Not at all dainty, these tamales are not for the faint of heart. Cut into them and you're greeted with shards of pork so meaty and juicy that all other tamales are put to shame. Also try the heavenly sopaipillas and the searing carne adovada; they're all excellent. Yes, it's all takeout-but it's all to die for.

The Best. El Modelo is the best authenic Mexican food found in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It is hard to come across food so well made with such a fine taste. Anyone who truely loves Mexican food will truely love El Modelo. There is no negativity towards El Modelo.
