OmG have you tried El Modelo??? seriously its sooo good and they have the BEST tamales they are as big as burritos and stuffed with meat they are amazing the green chile stuffed sopapillas are to die for!!!! been eating here for years and even when i moved away i had to always come back when i was in town. although you wouldnt know it was there unless you drove right past its amazing.. its has to be with no advertising and they have been in business for over 80 years in the same building?! The GO TO place for party food. Some the best New Mexican food in New Mexico and has been for years. Especially good place to pick up enchiladas and tamales for large crowds of people at home! Perfect for holidays coming up.
Love El Modelo Food!!. I always make sure to eat at El Modelo on my trips through Albuquerque. From my many years of eating Mexican food in Albuq., I can tell you that they have the best authentic food in town! They have to die for carne and tamales.
