Experience Spoiled By Poor Service

by hwybnb at Citysearch

My wife and I decided to try this restaurant because it looked attractive. We dined on the patio. It was a comfortable Fall evening enhanced by live guitar music. The menu offered several enticing and edgy variations on traditional Southwest dishes. The food was good but the evening was spoiled by indifferent service. We waited too long for every course. Our waitress busied herself with clearing nearby tables while we waited with empty plates for her to take our dessert order, and at the end of the evening we had to get up and search for someone to settle our bill. Our choice of patio seating may have been a mistake because indoor tables seemed to fair better.

  • Pros: Good Location, Great Atmosphere, Edgy Southwest Menu
  • Cons: Lousy Service

Horrible service

I had a horrible experience at this restaurant. The waiters and the owners were rude and disrespectful. I will not be going back.

Excellent Food & Atmosphere

My wife and I have been to Casa Vieja four times since the grand opening party; never a disappointing experience. We've enjoyed brunch twice and dinner twice. The eggs benedict is the best my wife has had in a long time, I have tried the green chili cheese frittata and breakfast burrito (red) for brunch; both were really good and the burrito was enough for two!

Our dinner selections have been, her; Chicken breast w/vegetable fetuchini and pasta carbonara..she liked both dishes (she can't seem to get enough of the mushroom soup starter!). I've had the small filet and the Green Chili Chicken Enchilada w/egg, the filet was cooked perfectly and the enchiladas were supperb (the side of callbacitas was a nice change from the traditional beans and rice offered by most restuarants).

My grandsons ordered the Cinnamonster cinnamon rolls for brunch an we were wll quite surprised by the size of the rolls (Frontier watch out!). Topped with reconstituted raisins an d a shared side of bacon, they were in heaven.

The music on the patio during dinner and brunch is a nice touch; not too loud!!

Best of Luck to Josh and Kate!!

  • Pros: Variety of dishes
  • Cons: Can get hot on patio
