Great restaurant. Went for my son's birthday last night! It was our family first time at Azuma,That was a beautiful restaurant! And the employees were very friendly. We sat on the sushi side, miso soup and salad were free, big portion for rolls and very tasty!Fish were so fresh , we could not even feel that were raw!, my husband did not eat sushi, he had steak, it was so juicy....oh, they had the most cool birthday candle we never seen. ... we had a great experience , we will be back !
Frequent Vehicle Vandalisms.
Frequent vehicle vandalisms. My car was vandalized in broad daylight
while I was in the restaurant. When I came out and saw my vehicle, 2 employees of Azuma came and told me this happens all the time there, and another customer told me this is the second time in a week they've seen this happen. Still another passer-by told me his girlfriend won't even park there. Azuma is partly responsible since they know this happens all the time, yet don't provide security. I will never eat there again. Also, a homeless man tried to wash my shattered windshield for money.
the food? Just OK. Sakura on the westside is much fresher. The service was slow here, and they brought me the wrong dessert because they were out of what I ordered, guess they were hoping I wouldn't notice?
In Love!.
My family absolutely loves Japanese food. We went to Azuma for dinner last night and we all left with big smiles on our faces. The staff was extremely friendly and efficient.. We sat on the teppan side, and the chef was lively and made everyone at the table laugh while preparing our meal. One reason I love Azuma is that you get so much when you order. On the teppan side, you get rice, noodles, vegetables, and whatever meat/seafood you ordered! We also ordered some sushi, and my daughter's favorite was the "Make My Day" roll. My father loved the sashimi, for it was fresh and tasted great.
I highly recommend Azuma for any fans of Japanese food. The food at Azuma is fresh and tasty and served in generous portions, and the atmosphere is charming. Not to mention that it's totally family friendly!
Employee at Azuma STOLE my glasses!. to Azuma yesterday 4/3/11, and sat on the sushi side of the restaurant at about 3:00pm. I had put my sunglasses on the table while I ate my meal and ten minutes after I left the restaurant i returned back because I realized I had forgotten my sunglasses on the table. I asked our server if she had found my sunglasses on the table we sat at and she said no. I then asked if she could ask the person who cleaned the table if he had seen them. She came back and said no. I knew that someone had seen them because I left them right on the table not 10minutes ago. After about 10 minutues of employees telling me no one had seen them I asked for the manager and the server said she didnt know where he was. So finally a young man about the age of 16 started talking to me and said they could probably look at the cameras to see who took them. Then he said the man who cleaned our table probably stole them because he has seen him looking in the checkbooks for money. Finally the young man went to the back and said he had found my glasses stashed. No other employee had offered any solutions and no manager was ever seen. An employee had stolen my glasses. Azuma was uncooperative and showed no knowledge of professionalism or customer service. Not to mention the sushi sucks. Cream cheese and Asparagus in everything, what kind of sushi is that!
Fresh!. Jessie introduced me to Azuma last night, knowing that I am an avid sushi fan! We walked inside, and we were greeted by a friendly host as he lead us to our table. The sushi was very fresh and in generous portions. It is for sure one of my new favorite restaurants. I'm going back soon!
My New Favorite Japanese Restaurant.
Last night was my family and I's first time at Azuma.
We sat on the Teppan side of the restaurant and we ordered steak, shrimp, chicken... and some sushi.
The waitress was very sweet and the teppan chef was very funny and entertaining. The portions were in generous amounts and we couldn't even finish. I love the noodles! I've been to other Japanese restaurants and no others gave free noodles along with the meal. We ordered the "Make My Day" roll and it was great! I am going back soon.
Smelled of dirty dish rags.
I could smell dirty dish rags upon arrival, it remained through dinner. When I turned around, there was a dirty dish rag bucket in plain view underneath the sushi bar stool. YUCK and NO WONDER!!
Sushi tasted odd, we left most of it on the table after sampling each piece. What a waste of $75 for two. I've had sushi at about 20 places in Abq and none of it tasted as odd as this did. Almost like a chemical taste.
I won't go back.
poor service. terrible service-chef barely spoke-no show whatsoever-couldn't find waiter to get refill on drinks-food was ok but overall not worth the money due to lackluster service
Love their Sushi!. Great place to bring guests who don't like sushi even if you love it. You can have it all and everyone is satisfied.
