Ranchers Club has a nice ambience and the staff is very proficient, THE FOOD IS TERRIBLE !!!! For a 'high class' resturant you would expect much better food. The vegetables were raw and cold, along with both the steaks we ordered. The 'twice baked' potato was good, but maybe because it was twice cooked, it caused all of the other food to be cold. I had the 'baseball' steak which was very hard to cut with the steak knife (not the knifes fault) and you need very strong jaw muscles to chew it. My wife had the 12oz prime rib which was 8oz. of fat !!! We could have complained but I don't believe that would do any good in the resturant. We will not be returning to this establishment.
What a night to remember!. We ate at the Rancher's Club last evening for our 25th anniversary. We got in promptly and had such a courteous staff. They were each outstanding! We were waited on promptly and had our orders taken. The salads were delicious. Our meals were absolutely delicious. My steak was not done enough but that was not a problem and was returned just to my liking. The rest of the meal was out of this world. At the end, we were going to order dessert but instead, they had prepared cake for us to celebrate our anniversary. What a very special and super way for us to remember such a special night in our lives! They all went out of their way to see that we were well taken care of throughout the evening. Thanks to Rancher's Club!!!
Unless you are staying at the Hilton and can't drive, there are much better places. This is really a "back East" club masquerading as a restaurant. It has the familiar dark room filled with trophies, only these treasures have a Southwest theme. It isn't a particularly welcoming ambiance. The food is good but not excellent. The worst part of the experience are the pretentious cowhands who think they know how to serve food.
Editorial Review. Upscale steakhouse serves a variety of hearty meat and seafood dishes for lunch and dinner.
Overpriced pretention. Good cuts of meat served with rich, unimaginative sauces, in a snobbish (for no apparent reason) men's club atmosphere. Drive over in the Caddy and impress your friends by substituting money for savoir faire. You can get better food, atmosphere and service.
Impress your friends. Since smoking is no longer allowed in most restaurants, you can't impress your friends by lighting up using $100 bills for matches. But never fear, you can still take them to the Ranchers Club to showcase your incredible wealth... and the food is OK too. This restaurant isn't just expensive for Albuquerque, it's expensive for Tokyo. The tip alone, for a party of 6, would equal a month's rent for about 50% of New Mexico's residents.
A local's perspective.. The Ranchers Club is where you bring tourist friends or family that you want to impress. As you walk down the tile floored corridor of the Hilton, you take in the southwestern ambiance, then a quick turn and you are in the bar of the Ranchers. Usually there is the terrific music of Phil Lenk on the grand piano. The service, once inside the main room is peerless in Albuquerque. There are better steaks to be had in this town but for great surroundings and very good food, the Ranchers is clearly the place to go.
Caviar in bean town. The Ranchers Club is a refreshing alternative to the chain resturants that populate the city sometimes referred to as the World's largest truck stop. Excellent menu and very good wine list; many hearty reds not normally found in New Mexico to accompany truely great steaks! Food was prefectly prepared and service was generally outstanding. Vegetable choices could use a bit of help to offset the mariginal grilled potatoes. They should ban cell phones!
My favorite Abq restaurant. The Ranchers Club features a wonderful menu with superb service. A must for any visit to Albuquerque.
Ate more than enough. Masculine Steak & Seafood restaurant. Service from a forgotten era, Attentive but not abtrusive, We had one of the most memorable anniverseries in a long time. We couldn't wait to come back and we had'nt even left the restaurant, The wine selection was so large the Wine Stewart needs to commended. The live intertainment was unforgettable. The atmosphere in the lounge was jumping with limited seating. A great place for all special occasions. Recommeded for popping the big question.
