My wife and I have been going to this bird shop for almost a year now and I have seen the owner (Michelle) along with her son, Ryan, putting a lot of dedication and hard work into the little parrot shop. This place is not a playground. It is for people who have a true love for birds. Not just seeing them and having statues and art of them but actually having one and learning their behaviors. Come to this shop if you are serious about having one and would like to learn more about them.
Great Bird Care. I have been taking my African Gray here for almost 8 years -- both grooming and boarding. Michelle is wonderful with him. In fact, when I have brought him to the vet , he often asks me "What did Michele say about it?" She is very respected in avian circles, especially relative to Grays. Parrots are wild, not domestic. Michelle understands that and gives these wonderful cratures the space and experience to be themselves. It's a crazy wild place, but just what exotic birds need!
Beware. For bird lovers here in Albuquerque, I was a Miligold Macaw owner who could not maintain the high cost of keeping my pet so I put my poor bird on consignment at Psitti Scenes. The bird was well cared for for around a year while at the store, but on my last visit to my best friend she had been mutilated by another bird leaving huge gashes across her face and the bird's spirit was completely gone. The employees didn't seem to have any knowledge of birds, although the owner Michelle is very knowledgeable she is barely ever there. If you love your pet be very careful if you must leave your animal there!!!!!
