The Scene – Where would you think the world's longest aerial tram operates? If you guessed somewhere in the Alps, you'd be wrong. New Mexico's Sandia Peak Ski Area lays claim to the honor, lifting guests 2.7 miles to the top of the area's 10,378-foot peak. Open winter and summer, the tram treats riders to spectacular views of the surrounding Sandia mountains and the landscape beyond. – – The Slopes – Sandia Peak's 30 trails are the places to hit for long, blue cruisers (a great place to break out those hypercarving skis). ROMANTIC!

by FOLKSYMOM

It's so very romantic up there and isolated! There is such an awesome view of the city and of the mesas. I've never seen such a beautiful sunset anywhere else...it goes on forever up there. Try and catch the sun setting when your up on Sandia Peak, you won't be sorry. There are also meadows up there - wide open spaces. If you have dogs, it's a great place to let them run and run and run. The trails are great. On one of the trails you happen upon I think the old elks lodge. It's made entirely of stone. Great place to sit inside and relax and capture the beauty of Albuquerque, New Mexico! You have to go and see Sandia Peak either by tram or you can drive on the back side of the mountain to the top where Sandia Peak is. Either way the view is GORGEOUS!

Beautiful view.......

by yokoromo

anytime of the year. Everytime I'm in this city I always try to make time for a trip up the tram for lunch or dinner. The view is spectacular and the restaurant, High Finance, has great food.

The name for the restuarant is applicable since the price is high, but it is well worth it.
